To publish on Google Play you need a Google Play Console developer account. There's a one-time registration fee of $25.
Personal or organization?
Personal accounts are for individuals. Organization accounts are for companies and need a D-U-N-S number. Google verifies your identity for both, so have your ID and contact details ready.
How to register
- Sign in to the Google Play Console with the Google account you want to own the apps
- Choose personal or organization, pay the $25 fee and complete identity verification
- Verify your contact email and phone number
Testing requirement for new personal accounts
Google requires newer personal developer accounts to run a closed test with a minimum number of testers for a set period before an app can go live to everyone. Our team will guide you through this when we prepare your submission. Check the Play Console for the current requirement on your account.
Giving our team access
In the Play Console, go to Users and permissions and invite our team's email with permission to manage releases. This lets us submit and update your app without needing your password.
